Read the limits, not just the price
Two plans with the same price can behave very differently. Look at three things before you pay.
- Codes in total or per month. Hovercode Pro and TrackFlyer count codes in total. Bitly and Hovercode Business count new codes per month. A monthly allowance sounds bigger, but it only matters if you keep making new codes.
- Scans or scan data. QR TIGER's free plan stops at 500 scans per code. Flowcode counts analytics up to a number of scans. Bitly keeps scan data for a set number of days.
- Changing the link. Bitly's free plan makes QR codes, but changing where they point is not included. If you might ever change the link, that plan is the wrong one.
What happens to your codes when you stop paying
This is the question most pricing pages skip. A dynamic code holds a short link that belongs to the maker, so the maker decides what happens when your plan ends. Uniqode's page says dynamic codes become inactive. Hovercode moves you to its free plan and keeps your first 3 dynamic codes active. QR Code Generator PRO's help page says dynamic codes are deactivated when the free trial ends. TrackFlyer keeps printed codes working and only locks editing and stats.
QR TIGER, Bitly and Flowcode do not say on their pricing pages. Ask them before you print thousands of copies, and treat a vague answer as a no. Our guide to whether QR codes expire covers the full story, and QR code expired explains what you can still do if it has already happened.
Do you need a dynamic code at all?
Often you do not. A static code from a free generator stores the link inside the pattern, so it never expires and no company can switch it off. For a WiFi login, a contact card or a page that will never move, static is the right choice and costs nothing.
Pay for dynamic only when you need one of two things: changing the link after printing, or counting scans. - Every price, code count and scan limit comes from the maker's own pricing page or help page, read on 4 November 2026. Each source is linked in the table.
- Where a page did not show a number, we say so and leave that maker out of the calculator instead of guessing.
- We did not buy every plan, so there are no star ratings or "winner" badges. The calculator sorts by price only.
- TrackFlyer is our sister service. It is labelled in every table and sorted by price like the others.
- Prices change often. Check the maker's page before you buy.

What is the cheapest dynamic QR code generator?
For 10 codes billed yearly, the lowest prices we found on 4 November 2026 were TrackFlyer at $48 a year (our sister service) and QR TIGER Regular at about $84 a year for 12 codes. For 3 codes or fewer, Hovercode and QR TIGER both have free plans.
Is there a free dynamic QR code generator?
Yes, with small limits. Hovercode gives 3 dynamic codes for good with unlimited scans. QR TIGER gives 3 dynamic codes with 500 scans each. Flowcode gives 2 dynamic codes with analytics for 500 scans. Bitly's free plan makes codes, but changing where they point is not included.
Do dynamic QR codes stop working if I stop paying?
It depends on the maker. Uniqode says its dynamic codes become inactive. Hovercode keeps your first 3 active. TrackFlyer keeps all printed codes working. QR TIGER, Bitly and Flowcode do not say on their pricing pages, so ask before you print.
Can I move my printed codes to another maker?
Not on your own. The short link inside a dynamic code belongs to the maker, so switching usually means reprinting. Some plans let you use your own domain, which keeps that choice in your hands. Hovercode Pro includes 1 custom domain.
Which plans can I pay month to month?
Hovercode ($12 for Pro) and TrackFlyer ($10) show monthly prices. QR TIGER offers monthly billing on Regular only. Bitly Core and Uniqode are billed yearly only, and Flowcode shows its Pro Plus price billed yearly.
